My Hour on Tuesday

Malaika, Mustafa, Nofal, Shion, Rafka, Pwesay...most days I'm doing well to try and remember their names much less pronounce them. Thankfully there are also Sarah, Cassandra, Samantha and Mohammed. These are the faces of Tuesday afternoon Book Club at The Fountains Apartments, a new ministry I've become involved in this year. This apartment complex is a receiving ground for refugees from all over the world -- Iraq, Napal, Syria, Turkey, Pakistan and many others. They come to Book Club on Tuesdays for many reasons, but mostly because their parents want them to learn better English and get reading points for their school assignments. We share books on a huge number of topics, have a snack and do a craft related to their story. We just finished a six week timeline of the Easter story where we shared Jesus every week, because what would Book Club be without reading the greatest story ever told? I am so thankful that I don't have to hop on a plane to share Jesus with the world; He has brought them right to my doorstep.

Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
    make known among the nations what he has done.
Psalm 105:1

Sharing my birthday with my Book Clubbers
I made cupcakes and thanked them all for coming to my party.
They loved it!
