My Summer Reading List

Here are the books I've selected for my summer reading list. They are quite an eclectic collection, ranging from an old classic, Anne of Avonlea, to more current suspense thrillers. Most of these were suggested to me by friends on Facebook, so I'm hoping they will all be good reads. I'm also starting a Kay Arthur Bible study on I Timothy next week and really looking forward to that. If you've read something really good lately, leave a comment. I only have nine on my list here and there's a lot of summer left.

Photo of the Day - Thursday

Well, maybe I will do this for several days in a row -- share a picture that is really meaningful to me. Here is a photo that completely captivates me every time I look at it. It's a picture of Rebecca and Abigail doing the dishes. Together. Not fighting. I mean...doing. the. dishes. Together for Pete's sake! If you look closely you will see they are sharing earbuds while listening to music. Almost brings a tear to my eye...dishes. together. Ain't life grand?

Photo of the Day

Let's call this my photo of the day. Not that I'm going to start doing this on a daily basis. Let's just say these things as to why I'm going to go right now (after I finish this, of course) and lay/lie? by the pool:

1. I'm home alone.
2. I'm tired of laundry.
3. I'm a little miffed at someone who took a shot a Katherine on Facebook this morning and it's been consuming my thoughts all day.
4. I'm really angry.
5. I want chocolate.
6. I don't like pasty white skin.

Pick any option above as to why I'm ignoring life for the next hour and heading outside for as long as the 100-plus temp (in June, really?) will allow me.

Summer Reading List

I'm in the process of compiling my summer reading list. This is funny because two posts ago I wrote about my spring break reading list. I've only posted twice since spring break. Blogger removed one of them and it has never been heard from again. I'm a little cautious about "Big Brother" removing my posts. And it was such a nice little commentary on cupcakes and spiritual gifts. Unfortunately it will remain in the land of cyberspace because I didn't save it anywhere else.

Any suggestions for FICTION books for my list? I've already selected the three non-fiction books I'm going to read. They are:

Why We Love the Church: In Support of Institutions & Organized Religion by Deyoung & Kluck

Same Kind of Different As Me by Hall & Moore

Crazy Love by Francis Chan

Send your suggestions my way!

As soon as I can trust Blogger to leave this post up, I'll be back with more.

Dear Blogger,

I am about to blog a few posts. I am still waiting for you to return the last post that I wrote, along with the new design I spent at least 30 minutes on. That was May 15. You SAID it would be "right back." So????????? I'm still waiting..... Where is it? If I post something new are you going to take it off to Neverland?
